Urgent: Squarespace Users Need to Reconnect Google Drive Forms by September 23, 2024

As a web design agency, we always strive to keep our clients informed about important updates that may affect their websites. Today, we're sharing crucial information for Squarespace users who have forms connected to Google Drive.

What's Happening?

Squarespace has announced that due to required updates from Google, all forms connected to Google Drive must be fully reconnected by September 23, 2024. This affects:

  • Form blocks

  • Newsletter blocks

  • Cover page forms

  • Promotional pop-up forms

If you don't take action before this deadline, Google Drive will stop receiving submissions from these forms.

How to Reconnect Your Forms

To ensure your forms continue working correctly, follow these steps:

1. Log into your Google Drive account at drive.google.com

2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select "Settings"

3. Click "Manage Apps," scroll to Squarespace, and click "Options"

4. Select "Disconnect from Drive" (Note: This will disconnect all forms using that Google Drive account)

5. On your Squarespace site(s), double-click each form or newsletter block with a Google Drive connection

6. Click the "Storage" tab

7. Click "Google Drive," then "Disconnect," and confirm

8. Finally, click "Connect" next to Google Drive and follow the prompts to reconnect
