POSITION:

Account Manager

MediaBooks is looking for a remote part-time (contractor / W9) account manager to help accounting firms and bookkeepers grow their online presence.

MediaBooks is the only place on the internet where creative accounting isn’t a bad thing. Everyone on our team is up for the challenge of taking what is traditionally boring marketing strategies for accounting firms and making them feasible to every business owner, and we want you to be part of that journey!

We have helped dozens of accounting firms establish a modern and professional website with our Squarespace expertise. We have gained our clients thousands of followers through social media content creation, email marketing, and even podcast production. Now it is time to take that work to the next level with your help.

What started in March of 2020 has grown into a podcast, facebook group, numerous partnerships with leaders in the accounting space, and accountants learning what makes their firms (and them) unique! This has only been made possible with the help of creative minds like yourself who also have a strong understanding of the accounting world and value they bring to businesses.

This position covers a wide range of marketing oversight but your primary role will be acting as the MediaBooks representative and point of contact between our clients and content creators. You will be their lifeline and the creative mind that helps inspire them as they look for ways to grow their online presence. This may look like monthly meetings, establishing marketing strategies, staying current on accounting trends, tracking tax deadlines, communicating changes / strategy to content creators or helping a client find their tone.

When you join the MediaBooks team you will be able to stretch your creative muscles while also participating in that analytical work many of us Type-A accountants love. We are laid back, embrace flexibility, work to help one another along, and have an obsession over the accounting industry.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keeping in contact with clients via email and monthly meetings.

Managing the monthly content creation projects by communicating with content creators and applying time strategy.

Providing marketing strategy and brainstorming solutions to accountants who despise creativity but are eager to grow their firms online presence.

Content creation which may look like creating a nurture email sequence, social media captions, graphics, or promoting engagement.

A TYPICAL DAY OF WORK INCLUDES:

A monthly meeting with a client to review marketing analytics and establish plan for the upcoming month.

Communicating changes to content creators, assigning projects, and assessing delivery dates.

Helping clients with small adjustments or needs, like copy on their website or turning a blog article into an Ebook with Canva graphics.

Strategizing social media posts to consider important tax deadlines, tone, audience demands, and engaging content.

Reviewing content before sending it to a client for approval.

A strategist when it comes to managing multiple parts and pieces

Well organized

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED IN:

Whether that is through formal courses or creating opportunities to build your experience.

THE TEAM:
One of our values is “One Vision”, which means there is no such thing as “not my job”. The whole idea here is that we can rely on one another when we need time off, are overwhelmed with work, or just need a helping hand. That goes for everyone from top to bottom.

No two team members have the same background. Many of us come from accounting background but this can range from public accounting experience to a bookkeeping course.

THE CULTURE:

We aim to create an open and honest environment where risk and creativity is encouraged. We are accountable for our work and aim to do better. But we don’t take things too seriously….all team meetings you can expect one (or all) of us to be in sweat pants, with a large coffee, and baby or doggo on our laps. We avoid meetings that could have been an email. And Gifs are our preferred method of communication.
